Following allegations of assault during a March 8th campaign event, Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski was arrested Tuesday in Florida for ‘battery‘ against former Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields.

Reportedly, during the March 8th event Lewandowski had grabbed Fields by the arm as she attempted to ask the GOP candidate a question, forcing her to step back and leaving clearly visible marks on her arm.

Fields later tweeted the following photo of her injury:

As reported by CNBC, the arrest took place in Jupiter, FL Tuesday and Lewandowski was given a notice to appear in court on May 4 for the misdemeanor charge.

Donald Trump quickly defended his campaign manager, by stating that Lewandowski “is absolutely innocent of this charge,” adding that “He will enter a plea of not guilty and looks forward to his day in court. He is completely confident that he will be exonerated.”

Following Lewandowski’s arrest police released surveillance video of the event which was captured during the incident in question.
